Bombers' appeal angers prosecutors

INDONESIAN Government prosecutors have angrily demanded a halt to an appeal against the execution of the Bali bombers, claiming it is an illegal stalling tactic to glorify terrorism.

But in tense scenes at Denpasar District Court, judges agreed yesterday to consider transferring the appeal to the island prison now holding Amrozi, Imam Samudra and Muklas so they can take the stand. The judges will decide on the transfer on Thursday.
